Drawing safaris

Saruni also offers a special activity: the drawing safaris. Designed to suit both amateur and experienced artists who want to sketch, use pastels or paint with oil, acrylic or watercolors in the African savannah with 5-star comfort, these safaris provide our clients with a completely new perspective and a new way to look at nature. The artists have a dedicated vehicle and a guide who pace the safari according to their special needs. This special program is set for a group of minimum 4 people in the high season and minimum 2 in the low and middle season, for a minimum of 4 nights. This allows the artist to discover the different aspect of life in the Mara: the landscapes, the Masai, the animals, the colors that come with the ever changing weather. When the group is spending an extended time in one location, a special tent is erected to provide shade, safety and comfort.

The art Safaris are led by Saruni resident artist, Mariane Høstmark Tveter, and by a professional Masai safari guide. They combine their knowledge of landscapes, animals and the need of an artist to provide the visitor with the broadest specter of resources possible. Mariane leads the artists to little known rivers, marshes, mountains and acacia valleys where there will be the freedom and time to contemplate and create.
